This course offers the student a general introduction to Cognitive Psychology as a discipline and to its proper investigation methods starting from the origins and the classical theories. Main research themes in Cognitive Psychology are deepened such as study of sensations, perceptual and attentional mechanisms, learning and conditioning processes, structures and mechanisms of memory, knowledge representations. Other relevant themes treated within the course are reasoning and fallacies, problem solving, individual and group decision making.

This course provides the basic theoretical framework of semiotics and linguistics within which studying specific uses of language and other languages. Beginning with the multi-dimensional concept of "sign", the course offers the opportunity to investigate different forms of codes and languages. The course also focuses on the primary communication tool of human communities, languages, through the analysis of general aspects of semiotics with regard to their cognitive and relational objectives. The course aims to deepen the system of law that governs international relations. International law is firstly examined in its institutional profiles: the foundations (in particular States and international organizations), legal sources (treaties and other types of sources), the adaptation of national law to international law, the mechanisms for peaceful settlement of disputes (both political and legal). The course will therefore present essential aspects concerning the international law: sovereignty, discipline on the use of force, international cooperation in various fields including in the context of the efforts by international organizations. Particular attention will be given to the individual's condition according to international law, especially concerning the human rights, and the latest developments in domains such as international criminal justice and the protection of the environment. The course of international law is essential to understand the development of human relations as governed by the law in the logic of internationalization in order to acquire the tools to effectively act in the current historical context.
The course aims to ensure that students acquire the knowledge needed for a full understanding of the current phase of internationalization characterizing human relationships at every level. The course aims then to make them own those technical-legal international law that are necessary to effectively operate in this context of internationalized relations.
